Armenian expert: Azerbaijan achieved diplomatic success on all platforms

Unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan has achieved diplomatic success both on Western platforms and in negotiations in the 3+3 format (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Russia, Türkiye) regarding the process of normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan, Armenian political scientist Sergey Melkonyan said on his Telegram channel, Report informs.

According to him, negotiations in the 3+3 format exclude Western presence when discussing processes in the region. But Armenia actively supports the negotiation agenda of Western platforms.

“And this is the paradox: Azerbaijan achieved all diplomatic success in Brussels, Prague and Granada, while Yerevan is promoting the EU platform. That is, Armenia, having surrendered all interests in the West, came to the eastern platform, where Azerbaijan’s position is already strong,” he wrote, noting that Armenia “went to the 3+3 meeting completely bankrupt.”

Recently a meeting of foreign ministers in the 3+3 format was held in Tehran. The next one will take place in the first half of 2024 in Türkiye.
