Armenia, US discuss joint military exercises and training

Armenian Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Edvard Asryan and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of War Andrew Loomis discussed joint military exercises and training during a meeting in Yerevan.

According to Report, citing Armenian media, the sides discussed defense cooperation and assessed the current level of interaction.

Particular attention was given to developing cooperation in peacekeeping, training professional non-commissioned officers, instructors and junior commanders, military education, as well as conducting joint exercises and training.

Loomis said the United States would continue cooperation under existing programs and was ready to discuss opportunities to deepen interaction in new areas.
