Nikol Pashinyan: Armenia plans to launch at least three satellites

Armenia intends to launch at least three satellites - two for Earth observation and one for telecommunications, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the International Space Summit in Paris, Report informs citing Armenian media.

According to him, Armenia also intends to develop ground infrastructure and its own capabilities for satellite control, as well as data reception, processing, and analysis.

Furthermore, there are plans to create a distributed network of ground stations that will be able to meet not only national needs but also support international space missions and the growing demand for satellite data and services.

Pashinyan noted that the Armenian government's program for 2026–2031 identifies the development of national space capabilities as a separate strategic goal.

He also highlighted the growing connection between the space sector and artificial intelligence.

"In this context, we are developing a broader national concept of an 'Artificial Intelligence Factory Park,' which aims to create an ecosystem of advanced computing and AI capabilities to support research, innovation, and technological development in various fields," he said.
