Araghchi: Iran, US already negotiating through intermediaries

Tehran and Washington maintain contacts and are already conducting consultations on Iran's nuclear program through intermediaries, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the newspaper Iran, Report informs via TASS.

"Regarding possible negotiations on nuclear issues, we have a plan and a well-thought-out strategy. Negotiations continue through intermediaries, and a channel of interaction with three European countries (UK, Germany and France) is also maintained," said the minister.

He added that Iran cooperates with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its Director General Rafael Grossi.

"A new initiative is now being considered to resolve existing issues. If we start negotiations [with the US] in conditions where the other side imposes a policy of maximum pressure, we will enter them from an initially weak position and will not achieve any results," Araghchi noted.
