A magnitude 5.2 earthquake was registered in the Pacific Ocean near the South Kuriles, the Sakhalin branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences said, Report informs via Interfax.
"An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 occurred on Thursday at 22:06 local time (14:06 Moscow time) with an epicenter 71 km east of the village of Malokurilskoe, Shikotan Island, at a depth of 86 km. No tsunami alarm was announced," the state service said.
