At least 87 people were executed in Iran's prisons following the snap presidential election held in Iran, said Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, head of Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO), located in Norway, Report informs via Radio Farda.
Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam claims that Tehran’s authorities are exploiting the global focus on tensions with Israel to conduct mass executions of prisoners: "This is creating a stifling atmosphere in Iran."
He emphasized that if the international community does not pay attention to this issue, "hundreds of people will become victims of Iran's killing machine."
The first round of the snap presidential election in Iran was held on June 28, 2024, and the run-off on July 5.
