IsDB: Azerbaijan's DOST model can be implemented in other countries

Azerbaijan's DOST model can serve as an example for other countries in the field of social protection, Ahmed Faruk Diken, Manager of the Women and Youth Empowerment Division at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, said during a panel session held as part of the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying that through the DOST model, Azerbaijan has integrated labor, employment, and social protection services into a single citizen-oriented platform that delivers services through service centers, mobile units, and digital channels.

"Citizen satisfaction consistently exceeds 98%, while waiting and processing times are measured in minutes rather than hours," he noted.

Diken stated that since the opening of the first DOST center in 2019, more than 3 million citizen requests have been processed. He emphasized that this experience has already begun to be applied in other countries.

The bank's representative also drew attention to the persistent global social protection gap. According to him, around 3.8 billion people still lack access to basic support mechanisms, and building sustainable social protection systems remains one of the key challenges facing many countries.
