Zelenskyy, Burnham discuss UK support, drone cooperation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first meeting with new UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham during a visit to London, discussing priorities for further partnership and support for Kyiv, Report informs, citing the Ukrainian leader's Telegram post.

Zelenskyy said the sides discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in drone production and other technologies, and agreed to expand cooperation.

According to him, the meeting also focused on Ukraine's defense needs, including the need for sufficient capabilities to protect lives both in the air and at sea. The sides also discussed the development of joint defense production.

Burnham said Britain would provide Ukraine with domestic electronic warfare technology to protect Ukrainian drones during combat operations. He said the move would help Ukraine strike targets more accurately and save lives, while also showing what innovations could be developed through cooperation between the two countries' industrial sectors.

The sides also discussed the work of the European Anti-Ballistic Coalition and further steps with partners in this area, as well as cooperation within the Coalition of the Willing.

Burnham assured Zelenskyy that the United Kingdom would continue to co-chair the coalition and take part in preparations for a new meeting of partners in August.

Zelenskyy also said he invited Burnham to visit Ukraine.
