Methods of the 2014 Kyiv Maidan won't work in Serbia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in a video address, Report informs via foreign media.
He accused opponents of spreading disinformation about the authorities allegedly using a sound cannon during protests on March 15.
"When everything ends unsuccessfully, they have to lie, and they made up a story about a sound cannon. They found this cannon, showed photos on social media in the hands of 'Cobra' servicemen (a military police unit, presidential security). Only it's not a sound cannon, but an ordinary anti-drone device, because the Serbian army and 'Cobras' don't have a sound cannon at all," the president emphasized.
According to the Serbian Ministry of Interior, up to 31,000 people participated in the night protests in Belgrade. Riots occurred.
The protests were initially triggered by a tragedy at the railway station in the city of Novi Sad, where 15 people died due to a partial roof collapse in early November last year.
