Vilnius spends 10M euros to put infrastructure in order for NATO summit

Vilnius spent 10 million euros to put infrastructure in order for the NATO summit on July 11-12, Mayor of the capital of Lithuania Valdas Benkunskas told journalists on July 7, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The work on repairing the road surface on the streets, repairing sidewalks and footpaths would have been done one way or another. The summit accelerated their pace, but all this infrastructure, repaired for 10 million euros, will serve the citizens after the summit,” he said.

The entire budget of the two-day summit is 17 million euros. The mayor did not specify whether this amount allocated from the state budget includes the cost of putting Vilnius’s infrastructure in order, or was it money from the city budget.
