Victoria Nuland will serve as United States Acting Deputy Secretary of State from July 29, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement, Report informs, citing the US Department of State.
“In May, Deputy Secretary Sherman announced her impending retirement from government service. July 28 will be her last day on the job. Upon Wendy’s retirement, President Biden has asked Victoria Nuland to serve as Acting Deputy Secretary until our next Deputy Secretary is confirmed. We are fortunate to have someone with her experience, skill, and commitment to the Department take on this added responsibility,” the Secretary of State said.
