In Syria, Russian military equipment crashed into an armored vehicle carrying US troops, said John Elliott, spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House.
According to him, the incident happened on August 25 in the Dayrick region of northeastern Syria:
"An American vehicle left the scene to prevent a confrontation. Washington believes that such dangerous, unprofessional actions contradict the existing agreement on the prevention conflicts between Russia and the United States."
After the incident, a telephone conversation took place between the Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov and Mark Milley, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff. Details of the telephone conversation were not disclosed.
