Uzbekistan: 329 test positive for COVID-19 per day

The daily tally of new cases increased to 329 in Uzbekistan, bringing the total number to 8,627, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

According to the Health Ministry of the country, as of July 1, 2020, 10.00, the number of positive cases stands at 8,627. According to the Agency, 329 is a new record in confirmed cases per day. The previous highest increase was recorded on the morning of June 29 - 306 people.

According to the health Ministry 5,682, coronavirus patients have recovered so far. Currently, 2,919 patients with COVID-19 receive treatment, including 19 in serious condition, while six in critical. The death toll from the pandemic stands for 26.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China's Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
