Uzbek FM: Afghanistan should be bridge between Central and South Asia

Uzbekistan aims to strengthen cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields, including logistics and energy, Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov stated during his meeting with Afghanistan's Acting Prime Minister Hassan Akhund in Kabul, Report informs.

"Uzbekistan is ready to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, logistics, energy, and education. We believe that Afghanistan should play the role of a bridge between Central and South Asia," said Saidov.

The parties also discussed expanding trade, humanitarian cooperation, and the development of relations, including the Framework Agreement on the construction of the Trans-Afghan railway line signed by Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan on July 17.

Saidov noted that this strategically important corridor will open new opportunities for expanding trade, supporting Afghanistan's economic revival, and accessing world markets through southern ports.
