US military helicopter pilots participate in joint exercises in Switzerland

Switzerland is holding an exercise with the participation of two US helicopter units from May 13 to 17 at the Air Force Base in Payerne, the Swiss Federal Council said, Report informs via TASS.

“From May 13 to 17, 2024, two helicopter units of Aviation Regiment 1-214, based in Germany, will be stationed at Payerne Air Base to conduct training together with the Swiss Air Force,” the statement said.

The goal is "to develop tactical capabilities and military cooperation between Switzerland and the United States." A total of six American helicopters will be involved - three UH-60 Black Hawks and three CH-47 Chinooks.

About 20 Swiss Air Force personnel will take part in the exercises, which, according to the confederation, will provide an opportunity to “hone the skills of using a unified operational approach.”
