UNRWA struggles to pay salaries as US aid ends

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is experiencing increasing difficulties with paying salaries to its employees due to the suspension of aid from the US, UNRWA Communications Director Juliette Touma said at a briefing in Geneva, Report informs.
"We were able to pay salaries in January, but the situation in this regard is becoming increasingly difficult. The financial crisis is acute, we cannot plan anything," she said.
