UN Security Council to review Strait of Hormuz draft resolution

The United Nations Security Council is set to review a draft resolution submitted by Bahrain on April 3, addressing maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to reports, Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani stated that the proposal responds to what the kingdom describes as Iran's illegal and unjustified attempts to control international shipping in the strategic waterway.

He emphasized that such actions pose a threat to global interests and called for a firm and unified response from the Security Council. Bahrain expressed hope that member states would adopt a common position when voting on the draft resolution.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for global energy supplies, making its security a key international concern.
