UN Security Council fails to reach consensus on Middle East

The UN Security Council failed to demonstrate a unified position at its fourth meeting held in the past two weeks on the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Zhang Jun, who chaired the Security Council in May, wrote on his Twitter page, Report informs.
Riyad Mansour, Palestine's permanent observer to the United Nations, said it was "shameful" that the UN Security Council did not take a common position.
