The UN doesn’t give up hope for the restoration of the Black Sea grain initiative in the future and is working in this direction, Deputy Spokesperson of the UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq said at a regular briefing for journalists, Report informs.
The UN continues to work with the parties to understand what can be done to restore the deal, he said answering a journalist’s question about whether the UN’s work on reviving the deal had stopped.
He added that the grain initiative was a significant achievement not only in terms of diplomacy, but also simply in terms of lowering food prices in the world, and this is an important contribution to the well-being of people around the world.
He called the Black Sea grain initiative short-lived, but successful.
