Ukrainian delegation stays in Riyadh for further consultations

The Ukrainian delegation remains in Saudi Arabia for additional consultations following a meeting between representatives from the US and Russia, Serhiy Leshchenko, an advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine said.

According to Report, which cites Ukrainian media, he added that the meeting between the Ukrainian and American delegations the day before focused on two main issues: infrastructure and maritime security. The discussions also covered a mutual ceasefire, with Ukraine not attacking Russian maritime and river objects, and Russia refraining from attacking Ukrainian ports, including in Kherson, Mykolaiv, and the larger Odesa area, to ensure their functioning.

Leshchenko emphasized that the talks could take a considerable amount of time, but meetings would be held regularly.

"These are technical negotiations. Usually, negotiations don't last just one day. Sometimes, they take months, and some negotiations, like those in the Middle East, take years. I don't want us to compare this to that. We just need to understand that the meetings will be fairly regular, and not every meeting will end with public statements," he added.

Russian-American talks are currently underway in Riyadh.
