Ukraine's gold and foreign exchange reserves exceed $30B

Ukraine's gold and foreign exchange reserves currently amount to more than $30 billion, said Oleh Ustenko, presidential adviser on economic issues, Report informs referring to the Ukrainian media.

"Our gold and foreign exchange reserves are at a historical maximum over the past 10 years - they exceed $30 billion," he said. According to Ustenko, these funds will be enough to cover imports to Ukraine for more than five months.

Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine reported that the country's international reserves in February of this year decreased by 3.5% compared to the previous month and amounted to $28.86 billion.

According to the regulator, this happened due to its interventions to sell foreign currency to cover difference between supply and demand in the foreign exchange market of the country.
