Ukraine has proposed to France the idea of establishing joint weapons production, with funding to come from the revenues of frozen Russian assets.
According to Report, citing RBC-Ukraine, Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense Sergey Boev discussed the prospects of arms production during a meeting with Pierre Elbron, the special representative of the French president for aid and reconstruction of Ukraine.
"Ukraine suggests creating joint ventures with French defense companies based on current needs. The Ministry of Defense has proposed several projects that could be funded by the interest from frozen Russian assets," the statement said.
The Deputy Minister mentioned that Ukraine’s critical needs include air defense systems, anti-missile defense systems, interceptor missiles, heavy armored vehicles, and ammunition.
"Besides investment and production development, Ukraine is also interested in acquiring ready-made weapons. The needs remain significant, and the situation on the front is dynamic, so quick solutions are required," Boev emphasized.
