UK ready to negotiate defense deal with EU

British Foreign Minister David Lammy said that London is ready for talks on a security cooperation agreement with the European Union, Report informs via TASS.

"Now is the time to strengthen cooperation with our partners to ensure our security in the years ahead," he said in an interview with Spain’s El Pais newspaper. Lammy recalled that the United Kingdom is no longer a member of the EU. "We are working with our European partners and with NATO to study all possibilities to strengthen coordination between our military capabilities, including promoting greater private investment in defense," the minister explained.

"We are ready to negotiate a security and defense cooperation agreement with the EU," Lammy said, adding that "Europe's security is indivisible."
