Türkiye, UK strengthen defense cooperation

British Defense Minister Grant Shapps held a meeting in Ankara with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Report informs with reference to the British Embassy in Türkiye.

According to the embassy, the parties discussed defense and security issues, as well as current cooperation in the field of defense industry.

The two NATO allies agreed to strengthen cooperation. To this end, the ministers signed a statement of intent on defense cooperation.

The document envisages the possibility of holding joint exercises in the Mediterranean, as well as exploring opportunities to support security around North Africa and the Middle East.
