Tokayev arrives in Seoul on state visit

Kazakhstan's President Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev has arrived in the Republic of Korea on a state visit at the invitation of his South Korean counterpart, Lee Jae Myung, Report informs, citing the Kazakh president's press service.

Tokayev was welcomed at Seoul Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Information‑Communication Technologies, Bae Kyung-hoon.

The Kazakh leader traveled directly to Seoul last night from New Delhi, where he had attended the BRICS summit.

On September 15, high‑level talks are expected in Seoul to discuss strengthening the expanded strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and South Korea.

In addition, meetings are planned with executives of leading Korean companies.

On September 16, Tokayev will participate in the first Central Asia – Republic of Korea summit.
