About 200 demonstrators gathered in front of the Palais de Justice in Nice, France, on Tuesday, November 17, to protest a global security bill that would make it illegal to publish photos of the police with an intent to harm.

The demonstration was organized by journalists' unions and human rights organizations to protest the proposed bill, which they believe would prohibit the filming police during protests.
Civilians and journalists who disseminate "the image of the face or any other element of identification" of an officer with the intent to "undermine his physical or mental integrity" would be charged with one year in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros.
