Three killed after car plows into cyclists in Netherlands

A car struck a group of cyclists in the village of Vogelwaarde in the province of Zeeland in southwestern Netherlands.
According to Report, citing local media, three people were killed in the incident - two children and one adult - while several other children sustained serious injuries.
Reports indicate that a BMW, for reasons yet unknown, drove into a group of 14 schoolchildren and two accompanying adults who were riding bicycles in a designated cycling lane.
A large team of emergency responders and medical personnel was dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, three victims were pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation. Authorities later announced the detention of one person believed to be involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
