Tajik MFA summons Kyrgyz envoy due to statements by head of State Committee for National Security

Kyrgyz Ambassador in Dushanbe Erlan Abdyldaev has been summoned to the Tajik Foreign Ministry, where he was informed about the concern of the Tajik side about the statements by Chairman of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Report informs.

“It was emphasized that such comments could cause serious damage to the progress of the negotiation process on the delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, as well as mutual trust,” the statement said.

On September 15, Kamchybek Tashiev said that Tajikistan should renounce territorial claims to Kyrgyzstan. He noted that otherwise Kyrgyzstan will also begin to make territorial claims to Tajikistan.
