A steam leak occurred in one of the pipelines of the turbine section of the Takahama Nuclear Power Plant located in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, Report informs, citing Kansai Electric Power.
As a result of the incident, there was no increase in the level of radiation in the station and its surroundings. It was also noted that the leak did not directly affect the operation of the station. Currently, experts from the energy company are investigating the causes of the incident.
According to the statement issued by the company, the amount of electricity produced by the station will be reduced by 40% during the technical work to identify and eliminate the leak.
