South African president to focus on trade issues during US visit

President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa announced that during his upcoming working visit to the USA next week, he intends to primarily discuss trade and bilateral relations, Report informs.

Ramaphosa made the statement during a live broadcast on SABC, a local radio station.

"I am not worried about anything," he said. "We are going to the USA to discuss trade and our bilateral relations. We trade with each other. We need to communicate with each other."

The radio station noted that Ramaphosa is heading to the USA with a whole set of projects that may interest big business. For instance, South Africa is ready to open its energy market, primarily its gas sector, to American companies. The delegation will also bring proposals for American investors in the areas of raw material extraction, agriculture, and transportation.
