Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said a humanoid robot production plant will open in the city of Šabac on August 29, Report's Balkan bureau informs.
Vučić made the remarks in an interview with Informer.
"If I am not mistaken, we are opening a magnificent robot factory in Šabac on August 29," he said.
According to Vučić, Serbia will become the first country in Europe to have humanoid robots.
The project is being implemented by AGIBOT, which presented its humanoid robots in Belgrade in February 2026. The company is already cooperating with China's Minth Group, which has plants in the Serbian cities of Loznica and Šabac.
Earlier information said Serbia would produce 1,000-2,000 humanoid robots a year. The robots are expected to weigh 55 kilograms and be 173 centimeters tall.
