Senegal seizes over one ton of cocaine

Customs authorities said on April 15 that a record 1,137.6 kg of cocaine was seized in Kidira, in eastern Senegal, Report informs referring to Xinhua.
The drug, packaged in bricks and placed in bags, was concealed in the double bottom of a refrigerated truck coming from a neighboring country, the customs said, without elaboration.
This is the largest seizure of cocaine by land route ever made in Senegal, the customs said in a statement.
The haul has a street value of more than 90 billion CFA francs (about $146 million), the statement said.
