Scholz reiterates readiness to talk with Putin

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has once again stated that he intends to continue the dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Report informs via DPA agency.

“I will talk to him,” the chancellor said at a meeting with citizens in the village of Nuthetal near Berlin. But, according to Scholz, he doesn't see a scenario in which the Russian Federation would make any concessions in the context of the situation in Ukraine. The chancellor didn't provide any details.

Scholz has repeatedly stated his readiness to continue contacts with the Russian leadership. The last time was November 12. Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Scholz’s words, noted that Putin is always open to contacts, but they must be effective, and not for the sake of the process itself.
