Scholz notes importance of direct talks with Russian Federation

As difficult as it may be, direct communication is important, especially during times of crisis, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in an interview with the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, Report informs.

"I want our messages to reach the President of Russia directly so that Russia takes responsibility. My clear message to him is that his strategy for Ukraine will not work. Putin must know what we demand from him. That is why I believe that such talks are essential, including in the future," Scholz said in response to a reporter's question about whether he plans to continue the dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
