Russian diplomat: EU torpedoing mere prerequisites for peace in Ukraine

EU leaders are torpedoing even prerequisites for Ukraine peace initiatives, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a news briefing, Report informs via TASS.

"The EU leadership’s efforts to torpedo not even peace initiatives but mere prerequisites for those or rhetoric, that we can witness right now, are more than indicative," she said.

Meanwhile, Washington’s rhetoric has turned more realistic of late, Zakharova noted. According to her, many around the world pin hopes on the US push toward resolving the Ukraine conflict through political and diplomatic means.
