Russia launches massive attack on Kyiv

On the night of July 6, Russia launched a massive missile strike and attacked Kyiv with drones, Report informs referring to Ukrainian media.

At least nine people were killed and 46 others were injured.

Explosions were heard in various parts of the city and its environs. Residents of the Ukrainian capital sought shelter in metro stations during the attack.

According to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, a residential building partially collapsed in the Podilskyi district. Several high-rise buildings were damaged in the Darnytskyi district, and people may be trapped under the rubble.

"These are residential buildings. Places where people slept and went about their daily lives," Tkachenko stated.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted that air defense forces repelled the attack and urged residents to remain in shelters.

"There are no words that can ease this pain," the head of the city military administration noted.

Several hours before the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia was preparing a new massive strike on Kyiv.
