Russia, China to hold joint military exercises

China and Russia are planning to conduct joint military exercises, the Defense Ministry of the People's Republic of China said, Report informs via Gazeta.ru.

According to the ministry, exercises with the participation of the Russian Armed Forces will be held in the near future off the coast of the China Sea.

The Russian Armed Forces also soon intend to take part in the military exercises organized by China called "North. Interaction-2023" in the Sea of Japan.

"In accordance with the annual plan of cooperation between the armed forces of Russia and China, the Russian army will send the navy and air force to participate in the exercises in the near future," the press service of the Defense Ministry notes.

It is planned that the theme of the exercises will be "maintaining the security of strategic sea lanes." At the same time, the purpose of the maneuvers will be to increase the level of strategic interaction between the Chinese and Russian armed forces, the Chinese ministry noted.
