Rock Haocas: World powers should stop ignoring consequences of colonialism

World powers must pay due attention to the destructive consequences of colonial policies, as Azerbaijan does, Rock Haocas, coordinator for external affairs of the trade union of Kanak and Exploited Workers, said at the international conference themed "Neocolonialism: Human Rights Violations and Injustice" held in Baku.

According to him, New Caledonia, unfortunately, has become even more dependent on France.

"During the COVID-19 pandemic, a referendum was held in New Caledonia, but its results were falsified. French influence is also observed in the military and defense spheres. Residents of New Caledonia have the right to self-determination and we are looking for ways to resolve the issue. Caledonians must be independent and free," he said.

Haocas also stressed that world powers must stop ignoring the problem of colonialism, and pay due attention to the destructive consequences of colonial policies, as Azerbaijan does.
