Qatar says no new progress in US-Iran talks

Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said there has been no new progress in talks between the United States and Iran, Report informs via Ynet.
"At present, there is no new development regarding the issue of negotiations between the United States and Iran," Al Ansari said.
According to the Qatari official, Doha is coordinating its activities with countries across the region to respond to various crisis scenarios.
"We reject attempts to involve regional countries in escalation whenever Iran is subjected to an attack by a third party," he said.
Al Ansari said Gulf states are fully coordinating their responses to various potential escalation scenarios. He added that Qatar's armed forces are prepared to repel any attack.
The Qatari official also accused Iran of closing the Strait of Hormuz, saying that such a move violates freedom of navigation guaranteed under international law.
