Putin: Many people in Europe lost their memory and try to rewrite history of World War II

Many people in Europe have lost their memory and are trying to rewrite the history of World War II, Russian President Putin told a meeting of the Russian Pobeda (Victory) Organising Committee, Report informs via TASS.

He reminded that nazism was defeated in 1945: "However, this ideology was not completely eliminated and now manifests itself in the form of Russophobia."

Putin noted that history has started to be used as a weapon of ideological warfare: "Russia needs adequate means to protect against this."
