Prime Minister of Hungary: Brussels is in Soros's pocket

Brussels is in Soros’ pocket, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on state radio, Report informs.

Orban declared 2025 as a pivotal year for removing the influence of the Soros network from Europe, describing it as “the greatest political corruption scandal.” He asserted, “Brussels is in Soros’ pocket. They fund his network using our money, which we cannot tolerate,” expressing hope that other patriotic European leaders would join Hungary in restoring sovereignty across the continent.

On energy security, PM Orban identified rising energy prices as the greatest risk to Hungary’s economy. He reaffirmed Hungary’s commitment to defending the TurkStream pipeline, which he called “the lifeline of the Hungarian economy,” and emphasized the importance of smart energy policies until Hungary’s Paks II nuclear plant is completed in the early 2030s.
