A powerful explosion has hit an oil pipeline in Nigeria.
Report informs via The Nation that the explosion took place near the town of Bodo in Rivers State, affecting a pipeline that transports oil from the Niger River to the Bonny export terminal in southern Nigeria.
Burning oil is spreading across the nearby mangrove areas.
Earlier, an unknown armed group had issued threats of attacks on oil facilities in Rivers State.
