Polish president-elect opposes Ukraine's rapid accession to EU

Poland's president-elect Karol Nawrocki has stated that he is against Ukraine's rapid entry into the European Union (EU).

Report informs that he said this in an interview with Hungary's Mandiner magazine.

Nawrocki emphasized that when discussing this issue, it is important to consider the interests of other countries that may be harmed by Ukraine's accelerated integration process.

"Currently, I am against Ukraine's entry into the European Union. Ukraine should know that other European countries like Poland and Hungary also have their own interests."

In his opinion, Ukraine's EU membership could negatively impact the economy and agriculture of these countries.

Nawrocki noted that even as a candidate of the opposition Law and Justice party, he did not support this idea and will not change his mind after taking office.
