Polish FM: Macron's idea of Western troops in Ukraine is not unthinkable

The idea of the presence of Western troops in Ukraine proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron shouldn't be dismissed, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, during a Polish Sejm conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Poland's NATO membership, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

Commenting on Macron's words, Sikorski noted that a similar case had already occurred in history, specifically during the Korean War from 1950-1953 when a coalition of nations, at the decision of the UN Security Council, came to the aid of the country.

"Do you remember, at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) immediately after the invasion, more than 140 out of 190 countries voted to condemn the aggression as unacceptable? This is not just a press statement; it's the creation of a legal basis," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Sikorski stated that considering this precedent, "a coalition of UN member states to stop aggression is not something unthinkable."
