Poland deploys task force on border with Belarus

Poland has deployed a task force on the border with Belarus, Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said, announcing the launch of Operation RENGAW, Report informs referring to the Defense Ministry.

"I have decided to create a military task force as part of an operation codenamed RENGAW. The task of the soldiers will be to train the Polish Army here, on the field, in the province of Podlaskie Voivodeship and form a reserve in case the situation worsens on the Polish-Belarusian border. The Polish Army is equipped with modern weapons, modern technology, and all this testifies to their strength," the minister said.

He noted that this military task force has a training and defensive character.

"We have the GRYF operation under the command of the Border Guard, which deals with sealing and fortifying the border. Up to 4,000 Polish Army soldiers will participate in this operation, but I decided to create a military task force as part of an operation codenamed RENGAW," Blaszczak stressed.
