More than 21,000 people have been evacuated due to severe flooding in the Czech Republic, Vit Rakusan, the country’s Minister of Internal Affairs, said following a crisis headquarters meeting, Report informs via foreign media.
The latest reports indicate that five people have died and eight are missing.
“Military helicopters have delivered 59.4 tons of humanitarian aid to the affected areas. In total, 21,488 people have been evacuated and 1,516 people have been rescued,” the minister stated.
Approximately 260,000 homes are without electricity due to the adverse weather conditions, and parts of roads and railways have been damaged.
