Over 170 people injured in explosion at illegal firecracker factory in India

More than 10 people lost their lives and around 200 sustained injuries following an explosion at an illegal firecracker factory in India’s Bairagarh locality of Harda district, Report informs referring to The Hindustan Times.

The blast also destroyed sixty nearby houses, while more than three dozen commuters were affected by the explosion. Over 100 houses have been evacuated by the authorities due to continuous explosions at the factory. Additionally, a significant number of two-wheelers were engulfed in flames due to the explosion.

"So far, 174 people have been rescued from the incident site -- 34 were referred to Bhopal and Hoshangabad, while 140 were undergoing treatment in district hospital. One death has been reported from among the people who were referred, and 10 deaths have been reported from the district hospital," Narmadapuram Commissioner Pawan Sharma told reporters.
