Over 160 nabbed since start of protests in North Caledonia

A total of 163 people have been detained since the start of the protests in New Caledonia, prosecutor Yves Dupas said on the Outre-mer La Premiere TV channel, according to Report.
French prosecutors have launched an investigation into the protests that took place in New Caledonia over several days.
"Following a meeting of the judicial police this morning, it was decided to launch an investigation," the prosecutor said.
According to previous reports, the damage from the unrest in New Caledonia is estimated at more than 200 million euros.
