Over 140 migrants rescued in English Channel

French maritime services have rescued more than 140 migrants in the waters of the English Channel who tried to enter the UK illegally by boat, Report informs via TASS.
Forty migrants were pulled out of the water as a result of the first rescue operation.
Two more boats were discovered in the morning on November 12. As a result, 102 migrants were rescued. All illegal immigrants were taken to the port of Calais, where they were handed over to the border police.
Paris and London have been struggling for several years with the problem of illegal immigrants trying to cross the English Channel in inflatable or makeshift boats to reach Great Britain.
Despite the efforts of the authorities, the number of refugees is constantly increasing. According to the British services, in 2021, more than 28,000 people entered the UK illegally using this route.
