A man has died in Ilfov, Romania, after being struck by a falling tree during a severe storm.
According to Digi24, cited by Report, the tree fell onto a car in which the victim was traveling, resulting in his death.
Strong thunderstorms across several regions of Romania caused widespread disruption, including localized power outages and flooding.
The worst impacts were reported in Bucharest, where streets were submerged, traffic was blocked, and some metro stations were damaged.
Emergency services across 20 counties received hundreds of calls reporting fallen trees, damaged roofs, destroyed vehicles, and electricity outages. Authorities said nearly 900 requests for assistance remained unresolved as of Wednesday morning.
